Wilbur and Orville Wright developed
an early fascination with flying. Many years later, the two
found themselves on a barren strip of land on the Atlantic coast
of North Carolina. In December of 1903, the Wright Brothers
tested their motor propelled glider. History was made on that
day with Orville aboard; "The Wright Flyer" flew steadily
through the wind for 12 seconds and a distance of 120 feet.
The Wright Brothers limited edition bears are designed by
Beverly White exclusively for Cooperstown Bears in honor of the
100th Anniversary of Flight. Designed in mohair, each bear
distinctively resembles his real life counterpart. Dressed in
the appropriate attire for the time, Orville and Wilbur look
dapper, as they are ready to take flight. The set includes
a wonderful model biplane. Edition limited to just 188
pieces worldwide.
